Ghana’s national football team will return to Kumasi to play this month’s 2015 World Cup qualifier against Comoros Islands after a one-year absence from the Garden City.

The Black Stars will take on the Southern Africans in the second-leg of the qualifier on 17 November at the Baba Yara Stadium.

It will be the first time the Ghana national team are returning to Kumasi since they were booed by fans in Ghana’s second biggest city.

With less than a year to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Ghana Olympic Committee has held a meeting with National Federation Presidents to plan towards the Games.

The meeting at the GOC’s Office at Ridge, Accra served two main purposes- to focus on preparation and qualification towards the Olympics.

The meeting was also intended to gather all relevant information pertaining to the Rio Olympics in order for the GOC to subsequently brief the Ministry of Youth and Sports because of budget considerations for the Games.
