Members of Parliament yesterday put the Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor, on her toes for the delay in rehabilitating the Accra-Nsawam railway line which she promised last year it would be done by the end of this year.

The transport minister was summoned to the House after New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, had filed a question to find out from her what her outfit was doing currently to revamp the Accra-Nsawam railway line.

The New Juabeng traditional council has is kicking against a decision by the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly to lease out the only Community Centre in the municipality to retail giant, Melcom.

The traditional council insists it was not made aware of the agreement to lease the Community Centre to Melcom for 40 years.


Acting Omahene for the are Bafuour Nyantakyi Tutu Boateng and some elders of the area have therefore gone ahead to halt construction works on the site.

The Chief Executive of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Sheila Naa Boamah, insisting students who read such courses do not stand any real chance of getting a job after school.

She explained Ghanaian educational institutions ought to respond to global developments in the job market that has seen entrepreneurship take center stage.

"We don’t want to create job seekers, we want to create entrepreneurs", Naa Boamah explained on Joy FM Super Morning Show Wednesday. She pointed out that it is not prudent for students to still read courses that have been in existence since Ghana gained independence in 1957.
